Prefabtrim is a New Hampshire based company that has been serving the community since 1999. We supply custom made interior window and door surrounds. The client needs only to select the style of trim for their surround, input a few measurements and Prefabtrim assembles the surrounds and ships them to your door. It takes minutes to assemble, ten screws, and is ready to install. Prefabtrim can even pre-drills the nailing holes and supply you with nails for the installation.  

 We create and distribute wood manufactured products to your specific measurements. Primarily we cater to interior, custom ordered, window surrounds or trim packages. However, we do so much more than just window surrounds. In the past we have created custom cabinets, jelly cupboards, birdhouses, homing pigeon houses, display racks, dining room tables, restaurant furniture, barrel vaulted shower ceilings, book cases, exterior trim details, shelving, deck rails and balusters, siding sun bursts, dog ramps, Victorian replicas and classic double hung windows just to name a few. If you can draw it we can fabricate it. It might be a small part like a window sill which needs to be replaced. We can assist. Or it could be an entire window sash which needs to be replaced. We too can assist.

 Prefabtrim received its start from AMC Carpentry LLC, founded in New Hampshire and serving the community in all phases of home improvements and construction projects. AMC Carpentry is a small outfit consisting of a wife and husband team, sometimes accompanied by their lab Dweezil, who offer a clean and respectful attitude towards the client’s home and family. Cleanliness is our motto and we admit to suffer from CVD, compulsive vacuuming disorder. AMC Carpentry and Prefabtrim always go the extra step to assure our clients are happy.

 Here at Prefabtrim we like to think of ourselves as stewards to the environment. Our packaging might contain rather unorthodox items due to the fact we try to reuse and recycle all products which enter our facility. This helps to keep the overall cost down. It is strongly encouraged to reuse the packaging we send you with our product. We enjoy receiving creative ways people have reused our packaging and like to display these photos in our gallery. Each month we select the best idea and photo and send the winner a complimentary window surround.

Prefabtrim caters to homeowners mostly and offers an affordable and convenient alternative to expensive contractors invading your home. A custom made surround is a much better product than an onsite construct. It also empowers the client to be resourceful and do things for themselves.

 Prefabtrim operates out of a 1901 historic barn with an attached Victorian home which was slated for renovation. The idea was to turn the barn and house into rental flats and destroy the character of the architecture. Luckily, we stepped in and saved the house and barn and are restoring it to its former glory. Much of the lumber we found in the barn and from projects around the house have been recycled. The old horse stall walls are now a beautiful bathroom floor. The V-match from the porch has been transferred into cabinets.  The old barn door was reused to reconstruct a beautiful trim detail on the peaks of the barn.

 This is not only our attitude with our business and home. We are always on the lookout for items we can reuse and save from the dump. Many of our tools in our shop are used and some from the sixties. With a little bit of love and repair they work fine. The doors and windows of our shop are found on the internet, either free or with little money. We do enjoy reading emails of clients with the same attitude and the projects they tackle.
